Notes
Exceptionally pale pink–a “whiter shade of pale” to quote Procol Harum. The nose presents with citrus–mostly orange and lime–accentuated with subtle floral notes. Étoile’s medium body exhibits good balance, slightly favoring acidity, and an elegance that underscores its top-tier position in the rosé portfolio of Mirabeau-en-Provence. The palate reminds one of orange peel with hints of creaminess in the mouth (but not the orange creamsicle effect occasionally evident in rosés). The pleasant acidity, evident from the first sip through the finish, suggests that this rosé will be a versatile partner to food. White meat, seafood, and shellfish–even dishes with a cream sauce–come to mind. Its debut on our table, accompanied by Mussels with Pastis and Cream, was a huge hit.
