Notes
This wine’s pale straw color entices one to continue to enjoy a discretely floral nose with hints of almond and perhaps hawthorne. These very pleasant aromas readily segue to please the palate with silkiness and added notes of white grapefruit and subtle green apple and perhaps kiwi. On the finish, an essence of citrus lingers supplemented by hints of mintiness. Medium bodied, well-structured, balanced, and elegant makes this wine an especially good value; even better if it were available in the States. Comprised of 47% Rolle, 36% Semillon, 17% Ugni-Blanc, this wine is perfect as an aperitif but equally appealing, with its lovely acidity, as an accompaniment to shellfish or to roasted chicken with a herbed cream sauce. We enjoyed it with a savory kale and butternut squash salad.
